On Saturday 16th April 2016 we ran another Boccia Challenge this time to help raise funds to support our Boccia Knights team in their entry into the Boccia England Finals to be held on Saturday 2nd July 2016.
This event was different from previous Challenges in that every person taking part had the chance for an individual prize by being part of a winning Team in the 2 sets of Boccia rinks that were running. Every participant could play as many times as they liked. One set of 2 rinks had participants in the Red Team playing with Boccia ball while their opponents in the Blue Team used children's indoor bowls. The other set of 2 rinks used normal Boccia balls.
The results were interesting in that, despite indoor bowlers being used to indoor bowls, the Boccia balls tended to win!
The Boccia rinks occupied 4 of PARIBC's 8 rinks and the other 4 rinks were put to good use with an Indoor Bowls "Cross Country" where participants, both bowlers and non-bowlers, followed a set course of targets ranging from target bowls to goal posts to skittles to drawing a long range bowl to get it into a box in the ditch. These challenges were enjoyed by all participants and will form part of a future "FUN" social evening for Prince Arthur Indoor Bowling Club.
The Boccia Challenge was an unprecented success and we raised the sum of £980.55 which will help towards incidental and others costs that The Boccia Knights will have.
